About this draft

Requires legal review before production publication. This statement describes our goals and the issues we know about. It isn't a claim that LokalMatch meets any accessibility law or standard, and it may change before LokalMatch launches publicly.

Our target

We're working toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across the LokalMatch website, including our forms, the request flow and the accounts for homeowners and pros.

We chose WCAG 2.2 AA because it's the most recent version and it includes the requirements of the earlier versions that accessibility rules in several countries refer to.

What we do

  • We check pages with automated tools and by hand, including keyboard-only use and screens as narrow as 320 pixels.
  • Every page has a skip link, one main heading and labelled sections, and every form field has a label.
  • We respect your device's reduced-motion setting and don't autoplay video.
  • We write in plain language and keep each page in a single language.

Known issues

Our accessibility review on 10 September 2026 found these issues, which we're working on:

  • Until you make a cookie choice, the cookie banner can cover the item that has keyboard focus.
  • On some service pages, long buttons can make the page scroll sideways on very narrow screens.
  • Focus outlines are hard to see on some coloured sections and in the footer.
  • The search suggestions on the home page can stay open and cover the next field.
  • The request form moves focus to its heading when it first loads, so the skip link is harder to reach.
  • Some placeholder text has low contrast.
  • The mobile menu doesn't close with the Escape key.
  • We haven't yet tested with screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver, or in Windows high-contrast mode.

Accessible formats and other ways to reach us

You can ask for any of our documents, including these policies, in an accessible format such as large print or an accessible electronic format, at no extra cost.

If you can't use our request form, email hello@lokalmatch.com with what you need and where, and we'll help you send your request.

Feedback

Tell us about any barrier you find on LokalMatch, or how we could do better. Email hello@lokalmatch.com with “Accessibility” in the subject line, and tell us the page and what happened. You don't have to include your name.

We'll reply to confirm we received your message, unless you'd rather not hear back. Open item for legal review: a phone option for accessibility feedback and a dedicated accessibility contact.

Rules we have in mind

This statement is written with Ontario's accessibility rules in mind, including accessible ways to give feedback and accessible formats on request, and with the disability discrimination laws of the other countries where we plan to operate. Open item for legal review: which accessibility obligations apply to LokalMatch in each country as it grows.
