How LokalMatch works
Tell us what you need and we'll introduce you to a small number of local pros who do that kind of work in your area. It's free for homeowners, and you're never obligated to hire anyone.
From request to introduction
- Describe the job. Pick a service or type what you need in your own words.
- Add your postal code so we only look at pros who serve your area.
- Answer a few questions about the job, such as what needs to be done, the type of property and when you need it.
- Add your contact details and confirm them with a verification code. This keeps fake and duplicate requests out.
- We look for pros who offer that service in your area and are available to take on the job.
- We introduce you to a limited number of relevant pros, usually no more than three.
- Compare their profiles, reviews and quotes, then decide who you want to hire, if anyone.
Free, with no obligation
LokalMatch is free for homeowners. Pros pay to connect with requests that match their services and area, which is how we cover our costs.
Sending a request doesn't commit you to anything. If the quotes don't suit you, you can simply decline. We also can't promise a set number of quotes: for some services or areas, fewer matching pros may be available.
How matching works
We keep matching simple and easy to explain. When we choose which pros to introduce, we look at:
- Service: the pro offers the type of work you asked for.
- Area: the pro serves the location of your project.
- Verification: the pro has completed the checks required for their profile and trade.
- Responsiveness: how reliably the pro follows up with homeowners.
- Fair distribution: requests are spread among qualified pros so the same few businesses don't get everything.
- No pay-to-rank: pros can't simply pay to be matched ahead of others. If sponsored placements are ever introduced, they will be clearly labelled.
What happens to your information
Your contact details are shared only with pros who are matched to your request and choose to connect with it. Before that, pros see only a summary: the type of job, the general area and your answers to the job questions.
Your address is never shown publicly. You can ask to access, correct or delete your information at any time. Our privacy policy explains how.
