Acceptable use policy
This draft policy sets out what isn't allowed on LokalMatch, whether you're a homeowner, a pro or a visitor, and what we do when someone breaks the rules.

This policy applies to everyone who uses LokalMatch, alongside our terms of use, the homeowner terms and the provider agreement.
Be honest
- Don't post fake requests, profiles, reviews, questions or answers.
- Don't impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your business, licences, insurance, prices or experience.
- Don't claim a LokalMatch check, label or endorsement you don't have.
- Don't open extra accounts to get around limits, verification or a suspension.
Respect people
- Don't harass, threaten, abuse or intimidate anyone.
- Don't discriminate against anyone because of their race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, age, family status or any other characteristic protected by law.
- Don't share someone else's personal information without their permission.
- Don't pressure anyone over a review.
Use contact details properly
- Use contact details you receive on LokalMatch only for the request they came with.
- Don't send spam or unsolicited marketing, or add people to mailing lists.
- Don't visit or call people to sell work they didn't ask about.
- Never ask for passwords, verification codes or full card numbers in messages.
Protect LokalMatch
- Don't scrape, copy, harvest or resell data from LokalMatch.
- Don't access LokalMatch with bots or automated tools in ways that ignore our robots.txt rules or rate limits.
- Don't probe, test or attack our security, or upload malware.
- Don't interfere with the site, with other people's use of it, or with our verification and fraud checks.
Content you post
- Post only content that's lawful and accurate, and that you have the right to share, including photos.
- Keep other people's personal information out of photos and text.
- Don't post links, advertising or spam in reviews, questions, answers or messages.
- Reviews must follow our review policy.
Reporting misuse
Use the report link on a profile, review, question or answer, or write to trust@lokalmatch.com. You don't need an account to report. Tell us what happened and include anything that helps us look into it.
In an emergency, call your local emergency number first: 911 in Canada and the United States, 999 in the United Kingdom or 000 in Australia.
What we do
We look at every report. Depending on what we find, we may remove content, ask for more information, remove verification labels, restrict features, or suspend or close an account.
Unless the law or someone's safety prevents it, we'll tell you what we decided and why, and you can ask us to look again by writing to trust@lokalmatch.com. We may report illegal activity to the police or other authorities.
