New South Wales
In NSW a licence or certificate is needed to do any plumbing, draining or gasfitting work regardless of the cost of the work, and whether it is residential, commercial or industrial. Air conditioning and refrigeration work also needs a licence or certificate, though NSW notes one is not required for duct work outside a dwelling.

Northern Territory
The NT advises that you should always use a licensed plumber for plumbing work, including work to fixtures and fittings, whether or not a plumbing certificate is needed. A certifying plumber or drainer is a licensed plumber who is also registered with the Building Practitioners Board.

Queensland
Some work needs an occupational licence no matter what it costs. QBCC lists drainage, plumbing and drainage, gas fitting, chemical termite management, fire protection, completed residential building inspection, building design, site classification and mechanical services as licensable at any value.

South Australia
Individuals, partners and companies must be licensed as plumbing, gas fitting or electrical contractors if they run a business that carries out or organises that work — and if you do the physical trade work yourself, you must also register as a plumber, gas fitter or electrician.
Victoria
Plumbers may only carry out plumbing work in Victoria if they hold a current registration or licence, or are a plumbing apprentice.

Only suitably qualified people holding plumbers licences granted by the Plumbers Licensing Board are legally entitled to carry out plumbing work in Western Australia.

Requests are matched by published rules that are the same for every pro.
How we rank and match pros- You receive a request only for services you offer and haven’t excluded, in the areas you serve.
- Your account must be active, with your email address and phone number verified, and you must be accepting new requests within the daily or weekly limits you set.
- Requests reach you only with timings you accept, such as emergencies, and budgets that aren’t clearly outside the range you work in.
- When more pros fit than a lead allows, we give more weight to an exact service match, how directly you cover the area, verification, how quickly you reply and, once you have at least three published reviews, your rating. Never to who pays more.
- Each lead goes to a limited number of pros, and you see that number before you decide.
Invalid leads and refunds
If a lead turns out to be invalid, you can ask for a refund review from your dashboard. We look at each request and let you know the outcome. A lead may qualify when:
- The contact details are wrong or don't work.
- It duplicates a lead you already received.
- It isn't a real request for work.
- It's outside the services or areas you listed.
