How many pros can contact you
Only a limited number of pros can connect with each request, usually no more than three. The request form shows the limit before you send anything.
A limit on every request
A request can be offered to several pros who fit the job, but only a limited number can connect with it and receive your contact details. The consent you agree to on the request form states that number before you send your request. It's usually no more than three.
The number is recorded with your request, together with the consent wording you agreed to. You can see your consents under Privacy & data in your account.
When the limit is reached
Once the last spot is taken, no other pro can connect with your request, and the offers still open to other pros end.
You may hear from fewer pros than the limit, or from none, depending on the service, where the job is and who is available. We don't promise a set number of quotes.
Why we limit it
- You aren't flooded with calls and emails from many businesses.
- Pros know how many others can connect with the same job before they decide to pay for it.
- Pros can't pay to be matched ahead of others. How we choose which pros are offered a request is explained on How we rank pros.
If the pros who connected aren't a fit
You don't have to hire anyone. You can close the request and send a new one later, or browse pro profiles for your service and city.
