What the “Verified” review label means
A review is marked Verified when it's tied to a real connection on LokalMatch between the reviewer and that pro.
When a review is verified
When you submit a review, we check whether that pro connected with one of your requests on LokalMatch. If they did, the review is labelled Verified and linked to that request's service and city.
A request counts if you made it while signed in, or without an account using the same email address, as long as both that request's email and your account's email were confirmed. This stops someone from posting a verified review using someone else's address.
Reviews without the label
Homeowners who found a pro another way can still leave a review. It goes through the same moderation, but it isn't labelled Verified.
What the label doesn't mean
- It doesn't mean we checked the work or agree with the review.
- It doesn't mean the review is positive. Verified reviews can be critical.
- It can't be bought. Pros can't pay for labels or for reviews.
How we look for fake verified reviews
If a pro connects with a request that shares an email address, phone number, account or network with the pro's own account, our team is alerted to check it, because it may be an attempt to create a fake verified review.
