How reviews are collected and moderated
Reviews come from signed-in homeowners, and every review is checked before it's published. Here's how it works.
Who can leave a review
- You need to be signed in.
- You can review each pro once.
- Business owners can't review their own business.
- Reviews are for real interactions, such as getting a quote or having work done.
How we ask for reviews
About two weeks after a pro connects with your request, we may email you once to ask how it went. You can also leave a review from the pro's profile at any time, and see the reviews you've written under Reviews in your account.
What you can include
- A star rating from 1 to 5, and optional ratings for quality, communication, value and timeliness.
- A written review of at least 30 characters.
- Optionally, a title, the month of the project, the price you paid and photos.
How moderation works
Every review is checked before it's published. Reviews that contain links, phone numbers or email addresses, or that look like spam, are flagged for a closer look by a person.
We publish reviews that follow our review policy, positive or negative. We never remove an honest negative review just because a pro asks us to. Ratings on profiles are calculated from published reviews only.
