Emergencies and safety concerns
LokalMatch isn't an emergency service. If someone is in danger, call 911 first. Here's what to do about urgent jobs, scams and unsafe behaviour.
In an emergency
If someone is in danger, or you suspect a gas leak, fire or electrical hazard, leave if it's unsafe and call 911 or your local emergency number first. Email isn't the right way to report an emergency.
Urgent jobs
When you request quotes, you can choose “Emergency / as soon as possible” as your timing. Pros see this before they connect, but we can't promise how quickly anyone will respond.
Scams and suspicious payment requests
- Be wary of anyone who asks for a large payment upfront, or for payment by gift card or cryptocurrency.
- LokalMatch will never ask for your password.
- Report it with the Report link on the profile, or write to trust@lokalmatch.com, and choose “Scam, fraud or suspicious payment request”.
Unsafe or abusive behaviour
If a pro or a homeowner is abusive or threatening, stop contact, keep the messages and report it to us. If you feel unsafe, contact the police.
