Specialized advisory covers environmental consultants, sustainability and ESG consultants, risk consultants and ISO consultants.

Environmental consultants carry out environmental site assessments, often before a property is bought, sold or financed, and help with permits and compliance. Sustainability consultants help with carbon footprints, ESG reporting and net-zero plans. Risk consultants assess business risks and plan for continuity, and ISO consultants help organisations prepare for certification to ISO management system standards.

Ask about experience in your sector and with the regulator or certification body involved, what the deliverables are and how the work will be documented. Environmental and ground assessment work often overlaps with professional engineering, so ask who will sign the report and which register they appear on. An ISO consultant can prepare you for an audit, but the certificate itself is issued by an independent certification body.
