What “Connected through a LokalMatch request” means on a review
A review shows “Connected through a LokalMatch request” when that pro connected with a request the reviewer sent through LokalMatch. It doesn't confirm the job itself.
When a review shows the label
When you submit a review, we check whether that pro connected with one of your requests on LokalMatch. If they did, the review shows “Connected through a LokalMatch request” and is linked to that request's service and city.
A request counts if you made it while signed in, or without an account using the same email address, as long as both that request's email and your account's email were confirmed. This stops someone from getting the label by using someone else's address.
Reviews without the label
Homeowners who found a pro another way can still leave a review. It goes through the same moderation and counts toward the pro's rating in the same way, but it doesn't show the label.
What the label doesn't mean
- It doesn't mean the job was done, or paid for, through LokalMatch.
- It doesn't mean we checked the work or agree with the review.
- It doesn't mean the review is positive. Reviews with the label can be critical.
- It can't be bought. Pros can't pay for labels or for reviews.
How we look for fake reviews
If a pro connects with a request that shares an email address, phone number, account or network with the pro's own account, our team is alerted to check it, because it may be an attempt to get the label on a fake review.
