Help with a disagreement about a job
If you and the other side can't agree about a job, you can ask our team to look at both sides. Our help is free, optional and non-binding.

What our help is, and what it isn't
Asking us is free and entirely optional. We read what both sides share and give our view of it.
It isn't arbitration and it isn't a court decision. Our view doesn't bind anybody, and opening a case moves no money.
You keep every right you already have. Before, during or after asking us, you can go to court, contact a consumer protection office, or dispute a card charge with your bank. Using our help first is never a condition of any of that.
Try talking first
Most problems are sorted out in a message. Write to the other side through LokalMatch and say plainly what you expected and what happened. If that doesn't work, a case keeps everything — both accounts and any files — in one place.
Who can open a case
- The homeowner, or the pro who connected with their request. Nobody else can see or join the case.
- It has to be about a connection made on LokalMatch.
- The homeowner needs a LokalMatch account, because we have to be able to invite them into the case.
- One active case per connection at a time.
Things that aren't a case
A pro asking for a lead fee back uses the refund request on the connection instead. Those are decided there, not in a case.
Anything urgent or unsafe isn't a case either. If someone is in danger, call the emergency number for your area first.
Opening a case
- Open the job or the connection it's about and choose to ask us for help.
- Pick what the disagreement is about: a no-show, work not finished, the quality of the work, damage to property, a price higher than agreed, a cancellation, payment, or something else.
- Describe what happened, sticking to facts and dates. The other side reads this, so keep it to what can be checked.
- Add photos or PDF documents if they help. Only you, the other side and our team can see them.
What happens next
We invite the other side and ask them to add their side by a date 7 days away. A later response is still accepted; the date is a nudge, not a cut-off.
Both of you and our team can add messages and files to the case, and you can see who added what. Our team may ask either of you for more detail.
The case shows whose turn it is: open, waiting for your response, waiting for the other side, or being reviewed by our team.
The outcome
When we've looked at both sides, we record our view: that the homeowner's concern is supported, that the pro's position is supported, that both sides have a point, or that we're closing it without a finding.
That view is non-binding. It doesn't move money, change what anyone paid, or decide anything for a court. It's there to help you both move on, and you keep all your options.
Withdrawing a case
Whoever opened the case can withdraw it while it's still active. The other side is told. Withdrawing closes the case and takes nothing else away from you.
