Notifications and how to change them
Your notification centre keeps every update in one place. Choose which categories reach you by email or in the app.
On this page
The notification centre
The bell in the header opens your notifications, and Notifications in your account or dashboard shows them all, newest first, 20 at a time. The bell counts what you haven't read yet, up to 99.
Opening a notification marks it as read and takes you to what it's about. You can also mark one, or all of them, as read without opening anything.
Choosing what reaches you
Notification settings lets you switch each category on or off for email and for the app separately:
- Lead and request updates: new requests that match a pro's business, pros connecting with your request, and changes to a request.
- Messages: new messages in your conversations.
- Quotes: quotes you receive or send, and when they're accepted, declined or expire.
- Bookings and payments: booking confirmations and changes, and payment records.
- Reviews: invitations to review a pro, and new reviews or replies.
- Account and security: sign-in notices, verification and changes to your account.
- News and offers: occasional news and tips from LokalMatch.
Turning the in-app channel off
Switching a category off for the app doesn't throw its notifications away. They're still added to your list as a record, they just don't count as unread and don't show on the bell.
Account and security notices
Notices about your account and its security are always on, in both channels, and the settings page shows them that way. They're how we tell you about a sign-in, a verification or a change to your account, so there's no way to switch them off.
News and offers
Marketing email is off unless you opt in. When you tick the box, we record the exact wording you agreed to and the date, so you can always see what you said yes to. You can withdraw it in the same place, and it takes effect straight away.
Unsubscribe links in emails
Review invitations and news emails carry an unsubscribe link, and they work with your email app's own one-click unsubscribe button too. You don't have to sign in to use one.
An unsubscribe link switches off email for that category. Unsubscribing from news and offers also withdraws your consent and stops us emailing that address until you opt in again.
Links don't last forever. If one has expired, sign in and change your notification settings instead, or write to us and we'll do it for you.
Emails you'll still get
Unsubscribing never stops the emails you need about your own business with us: your requests, your quotes and bookings, your account and anything about money. Those aren't marketing, and they keep coming.
If you asked for quotes without an account, review invitations still carry an unsubscribe link, so you can stop them without signing up for anything.
